If I do the right thing right, I’m going to succeed.” The meaning of this quote is, if you do what is right, then the key and pathway to everything and anything, will be clear and simple. Choosing not to do the right thing, will result in a vague and unclear path towards the goal you were looking to achieve. An example can be someone trying to become a surgeon. Choosing to do the right thing, and studying everything you’re required to learn, will make everything in the future so easy and familiar. If you choose not to study, you’re going to be confused and not know anything about what you need to do, and why you need to do it. If you decided not to follow this, then you may never achieve your goal of becoming a surgeon. If you always choose to do the right thing, you will find it easy figuring out what you’re required to do in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities: Chemists and materials scientists study substances at the atomic and molecular levels and the ways in which the substances interact with one another. They use their knowledge to develop new and improved products and to test the quality of manufactured goods.

Education: Chemists need at least a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or a similar field. However, a Ph.D is required for many research jobs.

Reflection: Being a chemist was never really my dream. But the more I learn about it, the more I want to involve myself with it. Chemistry is really fun for me, and everything also seems so simple. Lots of things can be figured out by using your own logic or knowledge. They get paid really well, but require a fair amount of of years in school.

This quote by Riggs is advice for us students, which can be used to greater our chances of success.  Following this can land you with a job that you actually enjoy doing. Working hard and following your passion, allows you to make a living off something you consider a hobby. This is a dream for many people. But there is a lot of them that don’t accomplish that. The reason for this is because they go after what earns them more money. As long as you are able to buy your necessities, you don’t need the extra money. Taking that into consideration can relieve you from an adulthood full of pain and suffering. Being good and caring is always some things that you might want to do. The reason for this is because lots of things can be gained from from being nice to others. This will result in good things coming to you. Monetary gain isn’t promised, but you will gain lots, in terms of positive vibes and emotions.

Duties and responsibilities: Physical therapists help injured or ill people improve their movement and manage their pain. These therapists are often an important part of the rehabilitation, treatment, and prevention of patients with chronic conditions, illnesses, or injuries.

Salary: $85,400 annual income, $41.06 an hour

Education: Physical therapists entering the profession need a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. All states require physical therapists to be licensed.

Reflection: Becoming a physical therapist would not be something I would like to pursue, simply because of the fact that you have to deal with a lot of patients, face to face. They get paid around $85,000 annually, but I simply do not have the patience to deal with some people. I don’t have much experience with older people, and I do not plan having to deal with them.

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.” This means that the only thing you should be thinking of doing when deciding, is doing the right thing. An example of this can be when someone loses something of value you find it. You know who it’s owner is, so you faced with the decision of returning it or not. Deciding to do what is right would be the best option in this situation. After all, you wouldn’t want someone pocketing something that you drop. Whether it has any monetary value to it or not, you should always return something that is not yours. If you keep the object that you found, you may be consumed by guilt. This negatively impacts the person that got his or her item stolen. The person could have been in scarce need for money, or the object could have had lots of sentimental value to it.

“Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.” To me,this quote means that you will never gain anything when you commit bad acts. An example can be cheating on a test that you didn’t study for. You might get a good score, but you might also get caught. Even if you don’t get caught you will feel the guilt that results from cheating, which doesn’t really feel too great. You won’t gain any knowledge on the subject because you decided to cheat instead of actually studying and learning the things. Another example can be stealing. The physical gain will never be permanent. You will never feel good about stealing, and the only things that will occur is the loss of respect and trust from those around you. You gain absolutely nothing from doing what is wrong, and that means you shouldn’t do it. Doing what is right won’t always reward with materialistic things, but it will in fact always reward you one way or another. You would always gain love, respect, and trust from anyone who witnesses your acts of kindness.

Duties and responsibilities: Pathologists are an integral component of the modern medical system. They study and test human tissues for signs of disease and are sometimes employed in a forensic context for their skills in diagnosis.

Education: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), although a minimum of three years of undergraduate study is required for medical school admittance, most applicants have earned bachelor's degrees (www.bls.gov). Since certain science courses are required for medical school admission, pre-medical students may consider pre-medicine programs and science majors; however, any major is acceptable. Required science courses and labs include biology, chemistry and physics. Students may consider volunteering at hospitals or shadowing physicians to gain practical experience.

Reflection: A pathologist has many responsibilities that he or she has to deal with, that I think I would actually enjoy doing. They get paid extremely well, and diagnose a disease using tissue. This seems like a very calm and quiet job, which is perfect for me. If this job also included a small team, that’d be great, but this is a job in which I wouldn’t mind working on my own sometimes.
