John F. Kennedy

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities  of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But wee do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.” What this quote means is that you cannot perform at your peak when not physically fit. Physical fitness is important because it helps with the completion of tasks. You cannot perform at your best when you aren’t conditioned. You cannot perform at your peak when you are sick. This shows us that this quote is more important than we think. Physical fitness even helps with things that solely require thinking. You cannot think at your best when you aren’t physically fit. This is because we as a person cannot perform at our best when being strained by fatigue, lethargy, sleep deprivation, and illness. This quote can apply to both physical and mental activities. Some things you can do to maintain your physical fitness is having a healthy/balanced diet, and exercising both your body and mind.
