Class evaluation

  1. Some things I like about the class is the fact that everything is done on the computer, and we don’t have to worry about having a bunch of loose sheets. Everything is organized in my electronic portfolio and google docs.

  1. One thing I did not like about the class was the quotes. I did like some of the quotes, but i also disagreed with some of them. I also did not like the goals journal because it’s hard to think of new goals everyday. Also it’s hassle to update your goals journal page everyday.

  1. One way the class could be improved is by adding new activities. I believe some typing games should be added to the mix, to make it a little more fun. Also, the typing tutors should be a bit more difficult.

  1. One highlight I had in this class was when I noticed my typing speed and consistency had improved by about 20%.

  1. I believe I did my best in this class because I did all my work. I also brought my goals journal everyday. I also brought my CTR card every single day.

  1. I read my life planning goals journal almost everyday. I didn’t read it every single day, but I tried. I think I read it a good amount. I have close to 100 goals in my journal. The journal also helped me complete lot’s of the goals i set. There is still many goals I want to set and complete.

  1. I am committed to being a CTR person. I do always make the right choices, but i make the right choices most of the time. Outside of school, I do all my homework and also try to have fun. Being a CTR person, helped me stay in the Gold list the whole semester. I plan to continue this by continuing to be a CTR person.

“When you tell one lie, it leads to another.” I think that this quote is trying to tell us that lying is bad. The reason for this is because one lie can lead to another. The the next lie can lead to further lying. This will eventually get you caught, and you will be known as a liar. Always lying will make it hard for you to make friends, or even keep the old friends you already have. Lying is always bad, and can even affect you legally, academically, and socially. An example can be perjury. Perjury is the act of lying in court, under oath. Another example can be lying to your friends. Lying to them will make them trust you less, and they will start to dislike you. If you cheat in school and get caught, lying will make it worse. Telling the truth will be the best thing to do because, lying can lead to more consequences.

The Sting of the Scorpion

The Sting of the Scorpion was a story that mean't to tell us that choosing the wrong can lead to consequences. In the story, he went camping with his family is the desert. His parents would always tell him to wear shoes, so it would protect his feet from some dangers in the desert. He then decides to to go for a walk by himself. He chose to wear sandals instead of his shoes because he was too lazy. He then started walking for a bit, when he felt a thorn like substance penetrate his foot's skin. He looked down and saw that is was a scorpion. The pain of the venom started to travel up his leg, he then began to hold his leg and scream. They were in the desert, about 2 hours away from the nearest hospital. The effects of the venom were diminished within 24 hours. This story shows us that even the simplest rule break can have major consequences.
Mark Twain

“Always do right.” This quote is telling us that the right thing should be done 100% of the time. Always doing the right will benefit you greatly. It will keep you safe and away from trouble. It will also open up opportunities for you as well. It will bring a good name to you and will keep you socially health. Some opportunities can be jobs or a program that can benefit you in the long run, such as school. Choosing the right will give you a good name, which means people have better things to say about you when applying for a job. When filling out a resume, you need to jot down some references and their contact information. As was stated, always doing right will give you a good name. This good name will help you out when they ask questions about you from your references. If you have a good name, then they will say good things about you. If you only do the right thing sometimes, then some bad things might be said about you, because your references will most likely be honest about your actions, behavior, and working habits.

Challenges Teens Face Today

Challenges Teens Face Today
What are several of the major challenges teens deal with today?
Many teens have to deal with relationships, classwork/homework being on time, and school wide projects such as the IDP/Interview/Senior Defense.

What are one or two major challenges YOU are dealing with today? What are you doing about them? I may be dealing with a sleeping disorder because of school. I always start my homework at 7pm, and always finish a little bit past midnight. I never get enough sleep, usually four to five hours of sleep every night. Some people may say the solution to this is starting my homework a lot earlier. I am a kid, and I deserve to have a life of the average kid. Such as playing video games, watching movies, playing sports, social interaction, hanging out with family/friends, and much more.

How does being a CTR person help you to overcome any challenges you may face? I can manage my time with a list of my tasks, or a schedule.

How can you help other teens to overcome their challenges?
I can share my time management skills, and tell them what skills they lack.
