“ A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.” To me this quote expresses that someone without a goal, has no guidance or plans for the future. You cannot possibly plan on doing anything without having any goals because everything would be pointless. You will achieve nothing, without goals, and you will miss the feeling of accomplishment. You may also avoid defeat, which is necessary for everyone and anyone to experience in their lives.It helps them learn from their mistakes, and forces them to keep trying to achieve their goals, no matter how difficult it may. Without any goals, or guidance, you will float in randomness, such as a conformist. Letting your life follow under Laissez Faire can be an issue at times. Especially if you want to achieve great things in life. You cannot expect accomplishment, unless you set some goals to follow. Being a non interventionist can allow people to take advantage of you.

Memorial Day Weekend

During my weekend, I hung out with some friends and family from Colorado. I went to the park and I also went walking to some far, random places. While on my trip to these randoms places, I spoke with some strangers, and made some new friends. I watched the show “Limitless” on Netflix. I saw the soccer game with Chivas vs. Tigres. I also helped my sister with some of her homework because she was kind of stuck. I’m currently doing a Powerpoint presentation, that is still ongoing. I skated a little bit, with a friend. It was my first time on a board in a while, due to a knee injury I had a few weeks prior.

Some things I did at home was eat, sleep, game, study, and chat. My friends and I decided to put jogging into our schedules. Daily jogging will be fun and beneficial for us all. I am also planning on getting a gym membership, so my fiends and I can go everyday, after school

“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.” This quote gives us a message that tells us that the only key to recovery and happiness is not having hatred towards anyone. This quote tells us that we need to learn how to forgive others, no matter how bad the situation really is. Forgiving the person who did wrong, helps them learn from their mistakes. It is more effective than punishing them, and makes them realize that they might be hurting people that are good towards anyone, including them. It also helps them notice that everyone makes mistakes, and that you should take advantage if you are ever given another chance. Forgiving others helps with relieving stress and the urge or feeling of wanting revenge or retribution. Forgiving someone may change their life, and it can possibly change your view on some people.

Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season. Overall, it is important to celebrate this day because it is in honor of those who fought, and are still fighting for your rights and freedom. You’re are also supporting those who are currently fighting for your country.

Many people tend to take bad dares because they are trying to fit in. They might might also take them, in an attempt to impress someone. But little do they know, these dares may result in major consequences. If they are willing to take on these bad dares, they will get hurt, one way or another. Instead of taking on these bad dares, you should be taking the dare, which is doing what is right. Doing so may be a challenge, but you’ll eventually get used to it. The rewards are far greater than any possible rewards you can obtain from taking on a bad dare.You also learn a lot more from them. You shouldn’t hang out with people that pressure you into taking these bad dares, because they are giving you them, for their own entertainment. If you get hurt, they would not take responsibility. A real friend would challenge you to do what is right.

Reflection: I have always loved playing sports since I was a child. I also have lots of knowledge on how to play them properly. As well as the training required to get better at them. The median pay seem low, but some trainers charge the price that they want, and work whenever they’d like to. I also have a lot of knowledge on diet and nutrition.

Brooke a caucasian female that lives and goes to school in Mexico. She is physically different in her appearance, such as her height. She stands by her standards, and doesn't change herself in order to fit in. She has many friends who accept her as who she really is and wants to be. She doesn't get peer pressured, and she doesn't let any negative criticism that is not needed, get to her, in order to alter her hapiness.

“Dare to stand alone.” To me, this quote means that you have to isolate yourself from the people who might set a bad example , or who may peer pressure you. You have to have the courage to be alone and move on from the people you thought were your friends. Doing this will allow you to keep your freedom, and you will maintain the respect that the good people have for you. Most people do drugs because they are trying to fit in. Those type of people should know that a real friend would never criminalize, victimize, or criticize you for not accepting drugs from someone. Those who do, aren’t actually your friends, and only care about drugs and fitting in. Just because you stand alone, it does not mean that you’re in the wrong. It just means that that you’re the only one that is correct(depending on the situation). Doing something bad, in order to fit in with a crowd of people can get you into big trouble. Especially if it’s something dangerous or illegal.

The demand for a chiropractor is 17%(2015). I would like to be a chiropractor because the job seems simple to me. You have to be well experienced but once you get the hang of it, it can be easy and mellow. They also get a good annual payment. Sometimes an appointment can be as easy as cracking someone’s back , but there can be occasion where the patient has some serious injuries and you have to be careful. Also, it has always been my dream to be a chiropractor because it is what I find simple, and i also really enjoy learning the anatomy of the body. People think that a chiropractor only focuses on the spine, but they also learn how to deal lots of the things that occur in places other than the spine. A trained chiropractor is able to give you a full body adjustment (bones). Many of them are also knowledgeable on many other things, such as nerves, tissue, tendons, ligaments, joints, etc.

If I do the right thing right, I’m going to succeed.” The meaning of this quote is, if you do what is right, then the key and pathway to everything and anything, will be clear and simple. Choosing not to do the right thing, will result in a vague and unclear path towards the goal you were looking to achieve. An example can be someone trying to become a surgeon. Choosing to do the right thing, and studying everything you’re required to learn, will make everything in the future so easy and familiar. If you choose not to study, you’re going to be confused and not know anything about what you need to do, and why you need to do it. If you decided not to follow this, then you may never achieve your goal of becoming a surgeon. If you always choose to do the right thing, you will find it easy figuring out what you’re required to do in the future.

Reflection: Being a chemist was never really my dream. But the more I learn about it, the more I want to involve myself with it. Chemistry is really fun for me, and everything also seems so simple. Lots of things can be figured out by using your own logic or knowledge. They get paid really well, but require a fair amount of of years in school.

This quote by Riggs is advice for us students, which can be used to greater our chances of success.  Following this can land you with a job that you actually enjoy doing. Working hard and following your passion, allows you to make a living off something you consider a hobby. This is a dream for many people. But there is a lot of them that don’t accomplish that. The reason for this is because they go after what earns them more money. As long as you are able to buy your necessities, you don’t need the extra money. Taking that into consideration can relieve you from an adulthood full of pain and suffering. Being good and caring is always some things that you might want to do. The reason for this is because lots of things can be gained from from being nice to others. This will result in good things coming to you. Monetary gain isn’t promised, but you will gain lots, in terms of positive vibes and emotions.

Reflection: Becoming a physical therapist would not be something I would like to pursue, simply because of the fact that you have to deal with a lot of patients, face to face. They get paid around $85,000 annually, but I simply do not have the patience to deal with some people. I don’t have much experience with older people, and I do not plan having to deal with them.

An example of this can be when someone loses something of value you find it. You know who it’s owner is, so you faced with the decision of returning it or not. Deciding to do what is right would be the best option in this situation. After all, you wouldn’t want someone pocketing something that you drop. Whether it has any monetary value to it or not, you should always return something that is not yours. If you keep the object that you found, you may be consumed by guilt. This negatively impacts the person that got his or her item stolen. The person could have been in scarce need for money, or the object could have had lots of sentimental value to it.

“Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.” To me,this quote means that you will never gain anything when you commit bad acts. An example can be cheating on a test that you didn’t study for. You might get a good score, but you might also get caught. Even if you don’t get caught you will feel the guilt that results from cheating, which doesn’t really feel too great. You won’t gain any knowledge on the subject because you decided to cheat instead of actually studying and learning the things. Another example can be stealing. The physical gain will never be permanent. You will never feel good about stealing, and the only things that will occur is the loss of respect and trust from those around you. You gain absolutely nothing from doing what is wrong, and that means you shouldn’t do it. Doing what is right won’t always reward with materialistic things, but it will in fact always reward you one way or another. You would always gain love, respect, and trust from anyone who witnesses your acts of kindness.

Reflection: A pathologist has many responsibilities that he or she has to deal with, that I think I would actually enjoy doing. They get paid extremely well, and diagnose a disease using tissue. This seems like a very calm and quiet job, which is perfect for me. If this job also included a small team, that’d be great, but this is a job in which I wouldn’t mind working on my own sometimes.

“It’s a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time.” To me this means that you should have the character to do what’s right when you notice that something is wrong. This brings happiness to those involved and snatches your guilt from you, depending on the situation. Sometimes you won’t profit in terms of materialistic things, but you will always be in a situation that is emotionally profitable, if you choose to do the right thing. An example can be when taking a test. You might know that you did bad because you didn’t study. When you get the test back, your score is a lot higher than you expected. You notice that you got 10 extra points because a grading error. Choosing to inform you teacher of this mistake is a good example of following this quote. You might even get to keep the 10 extra points for being honest.

Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first.” To me, this means that you can always find a way to get out of a situation when no promise was made. But if you did make a promise, or gave your word of honor, then you can never break it. If you were to break it, you would inflict damage on those around you, and even yourself. You can cause emotional harm to yourself, and your pride may be altered as well. Breaking your word of honor, makes you a dishonorable person in everyone’s eyes. You want to be portrayed as an individual with honor. Doing so makes you an honorable person which can be trusted by anyone.
