"Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it."
What this quote means to me is that even when everyone is against you, it doesn't mean that you're wrong. It also means that even if everyone is for it, it doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. An example of this can be drugs. If you attend a party and everyone is doing drugs, it does not mean that it’s the correct thing to do. You might be the only one left out, but at least you’re the only one smart enough to not do the drugs. Another example can be when everyone is not doing their homework because of a party. Just because a party is fun and everyone is going , it does not mean that it’s the right choice. If you make choices like that, you might just get the highest grade in the class. This is important in life because it helps you surpass others, and it benefits you greatly in school, and when looking for a job.

"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often." What this quote by Peter Vidmar means that you will often be faced with choices in life. It's your job to make the right decision. It is also your job to set your dream as your goal in life. You have to make sure that you are always aware of that goal, and make decisions that contribute to the success in reaching that goal. Many people who choose other things that bring them pleasure, over their dream, might not be able to achieve their dream. It may not always be fun, but you will have to suffer a bit to achieve the goal you set for yourself. You will also have to put in the hours in order to not only achieve your goal, but consistently surpass it by far and keep setting goals for yourself in the future. All the great sports stars didn't become the best because they sat down all day doing nothing. They became the best because they took the time and they also took risks in order to become the greatest.

Homecoming

Homecoming

Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back former students and celebrating a school's existence. It is a tradition in many high schools and colleges in the United States, Canada and the Philippines.

The tradition of Homecoming has its origin in alumni football games held at colleges and universities since the 19th century. Many schools including Baylor, Southwestern, Illinois, and Missouri have made claims that they've held the first modern homecoming. The NCAA, Trivial Pursuit, Jeopardy!, and references from the American TV drama NCIS give the title to the University of Missouri's 1911 football game during which alumni were encouraged to attend. It was the first annual homecoming centered on a parade and a football game.

A pep rally usually occurs on the day of the big homecoming game. A dance follows the homecoming game, and a homecoming queen and sometimes king are crowned either during this time or at halftime of the game. All of these encourage students and alumni to have school spirit and pride.

During homecoming, there is a football game, dance, parade, picnic, band, and pep rallies.

It’s called the homecoming game because it welcomes everyone is welcome to watch the game.

Hanging out together, attire that fits the theme, dance, and spirit.

In my opinion, homecoming is a needed event that should occur more than once a year. Homecoming can be very fun, especially if you go with a group of people. Its also fun when everything goes according to plans and when the food is great. Sometimes people go out to eat after the homecoming event is over.

A good name

A good name

"A good name is better than anything you can achieve this life" What this means is that it’s better to have a clean reputation rather than that of anything else in this world. An example of this can be when getting hired. When applying for a job, they check your background in order to see if you have anything sketchy in the past. I personally would rather be rich than have a good name. The reason for this is because I don’t care about what people stigmatize about me. Also, my real friends wouldn’t dislike me because I have a bad name/reputation. In life, having a bad name can lead to a unsuccessful career and discrimination. The best thing to do is avoid anything that will give you a bad name.

Global opportunities: Careers in other countries

“Global opportunities: Careers in other countries”

International aid worker: Opportunities are available with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as major international organizations such as the United Nations, Amnesty International, the Red Cross, and Doctors Without Borders. Some jobs may involve hands-on aid work, such as disaster response or assisting refugees. But organizations also need people with experience in accounting, communications, IT, human resources, and management, according to the London School of Economics.

Foreign service worker:Though a job with the foreign service may seem glamorous, it comes with many challenges. Foreign service officers must be ready to move anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice and may be stationed in dangerous or remote areas. While some postings allow you to bring your family with you, that’s not possible in all cases. The application process is competitive and involves multiple written and oral assessments, with an overall acceptance rate of just 3%.

Global company worker:Getting a job with a big company with overseas offices could eventually lead to a position abroad, if you play your cards right. Forty-seven percent of companies surveyed by Brookfield Global Relocation Services increased the number of employees that they had serving overseas in 2013, with the top destinations including China, the U.K., Singapore, and Germany.

Teach English:For those who are interested in working in another country but may lack the experience or skills needed for other positions, teaching English abroad is a common choice. Of 884 expat Americans surveyed by Migration Policy Institute in 2011, 20% worked in education. Plus, spending a year or two teaching abroad can be a way to get valuable experience and make you more competitive for other international positions. Some foreign governments sponsor programs that bring native English speakers to their countries to teach, including Japan and Korea. The Council on International Educational Exchange offers teaching opportunities in China, Mexico, Spain, Vietnam, and other countries.

Work exchange program:BUNAC, one of the oldest and best-known of these programs, helps people between the ages of 18 and 35 get work visas and find temporary paying jobs in Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, often in restaurants, bars, offices, or in the agricultural industry. InterExchange connects people with au pair jobs and other work abroad opportunities in Australia, France, the Netherlands, Germany, and other countries. The Centre d’Echanges Internationaux has a job placement program for people under 30 looking for work in France.

Reflection: I would not like to have a career abroad because I don’t want to live far away from my family. I also have never been out of state, so I am not comfortable with traveling to far places. There is plenty of job opportunities in the US that i would like to follow and take advantage of. ALso, working in a foreign country make require you to learn a new language.

Student success statement

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches. Proverbs 22:1” What this means is that it’s better to have a clean reputation rather than that of having riches. Reflection: I would not like to be a health educator because I don’t have the patience to stand in a room full of people who may or may not be serious. Teaching something to someone can be very frustrating when they repeatedly act like clowns or just don’t care. I think that this job doesn’t pay well enough for the responsibilities that are required to do.

"If your so-called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make a stand for the right, even if you stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light for others to follow"

What this quote means to me is that you should stand up for what is right even when everyone is against you. There is many people who are sheep and follow a belief because majority of the people believe or follow that certain group. An example of this is when Hitler was around. He gained power because the everyone wanted to follow the group that everyone"believed" in. When everyone is against you, you feel discouraged to state your opinion even when you know you are correct. Another example is when De Jure segregation was around. In other words, there was legal racial segregation in the USA. People were scared to stand up for colored people, because they feared that they would persecuted for having beliefs. Most people believed that the laws were flawed but didn't speak up because the didn't want to be different.

This job can be very difficult, but may be fun for people who like physical science like me. The job also pays really well. Since I am a skater, foot injuries are common for me, and if I ever get a foot injury, I want to be able to know what is wrong with me.

"A CTR champion is a person who makes a great human out of himself." This quote means that a champion isn't always someone who wins a competition. A champion can be someone who is golden by heart. A champion is someone who gave it their all and had fun in the process. A real champion keeps good sportsmanship even when he loses.Someone can win a competition, but being poor at heart doesn't make you a true champion. Someone who lost but was still happy for the other team would be considered a champion, and will remain respected for a long time. When Lebron James won the NBA finals with his team, he really showed that the trophy mean't more than anything else. He wasn't caring about himself, he was caring about his team. Lebron won because he was golden at heart and had full trust with his team,

"Goal setting is goal getting. Set and get." What this quote means to me is that if you set goals, you will eventually achieve them. If you don't goals then you will never achieve any. Different goals give you different outcomes. If you don't have any goals, then you won't have any results. If you don't set enough goals then you will never change for the better. If you set many goals then you will always be learning new skills which is a good thing. Learning new things can help you improve your social status and can also help you academic wise. You can set goal for yourself in all subjects, including physical activity. Setting goals no matter how unrealistic they are will help you be successful in life.

"When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block." This quote means that you will have to struggle in the beginning in order to achieve simplicity for the future. You might choose the wrong in the beginning and choose the wrong. Once you get enough experience, you will start choosing the right all the time, making you a building block instead of a stumbling one. When obedience is what we strive for, it will become simple to us overtime. An example of this can be studying. Studying everyday can be stressful. Playing games instead of studying will make you a stumbling block. If you make studying your goal then you will get used to it will eventually become a habit. This will make studying easy and turning you or your habits into building blocks.

"We learn to do by doing." This quote is important because it's the key to all greatness. It tells us that you need to practice in order to be great at something. There isn't a secret way of doing things in order to get good at something. You need to be willing to spend lots of time in order to achieve the goals you set for yourself. An example is skateboarding. It is a very difficult and painful sport. But if you put if the years required, you can become an amazing skateboarder and even get clothing sponsors. If you get good enough, companies can pay you to skate/represent them. You can achieve this by doing what the quote implies and practice in order to achieve greatness.
