Victor Hugo

Victor Hugo

“Right is right only when entire.” This quote means that when a lie is accompanied with the truth, it makes the whole thing a lie. No matter how small the lie or how big the truth, it will always be a lie. An example of this can be when going out somewhere with your friends. Your tell your mother that you’re going out to eat somewhere. Instead you go on a trip very far away. You come back early, and your mother asks you if you had fun eating. You reply with a yes. You really didn’t do anything bad, and you came back early. Your whole story is a lie because you didn’t tell the complete truth, which makes your story a lie.

Count Leo Tolstoy

Count Leo Tolstoy

“Only those live who do good.” This statement by Leo Tolstoy means that if you you do good, you live life to the fullest. If you do good, you will experience the best possible outcomes to many situations. When doing good, your image or name will be positive in the eyes of many people. This helps socially and emotionally. In our time, your name or reputation is everything when applying for something like a job. When you do bad things, you deserve to experience a bad outcome to the situation. Sometimes you might get away with doing bad, but bad leads to more bad things. Eventually you will go through the consequences you thought you had avoided.

Although it might be a struggle, I think this might be something I would enjoy for a while. The demand might be really high because I haven’t heard too much about this job. It might be because of the requirements to be one. I would consider this one of my dream jobs.

Ben Carson

Dr. Ben Carson

“I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that(poverty). It depends upon how hard i want to work, and I decided that I would change it. Dr. Ben carson was born into poverty, and known as being the worst student in his grade school class. You shouldn’t give up, even when you feel like something is impossible. If you haven’t lost, then it still might be possible even when you think you can’t do something. This can apply to your education, sports, and and other things or situations in life. There has been many people who overcame many hurdles, and have been in a worse situation than you. Millions of people suffer from disabilities, illnesses, and poverty. They tried their best and were able to achieve something that seems impossible in your eyes. If they can do it, then you can too.

Water Toxicity

Water Toxicity

I chose this topic because I did the IDP on water toxicity, and I am well informed on the topic. Toxicity is the quality of of being toxic or poisonous. This relates to water because some communities experience water toxicity. This can affect anyone, and many have been exposed to these toxins their whole lives. Many symptoms can come from exposure to these toxins in the water. Many toxins can cause many respiratory and neurological diseases. Some of these can be certain type of cancers, brain damage, bronchitis, asthma, IQ reduction, nerve disorders, and even illnesses that affect the child of a pregnant woman. Many of these toxins can be avoided, or be consumed at a minimal/safe level. Some toxins in water can be pesticides, lead, nitrate, etc. One way to reduce your exposure to lead is by using cold water. Another way is by using a water filter when using tap water. Water toxicity tends to happen more often in low income communities, due to the fact that they seem irrelevant in the eyes of some people. It’s best to inform students, so that they are aware of the situation. Water toxicity can affect your kids, food, and even your pets. Some illnesses that are caused by water toxicity, can hinder your and your child’s ability to learn, socialize, and ability to perform physical activities.

Russell M. Nelson

Russell M. Nelson

“Even if everyone is doing it, wrong is never right.” This statement means that no matter what number of individuals are doing something bad, it will never become right because of its popularity. This can be applied to many situations in your life. An example can be cheating in school. During a test you see everyone but you cheating, but you decide not to cheat because you’ll feel very guilty. After that, you end up getting the lowest score in the class because you decided to be fair and not cheat on the test. This means that you may be at a higher intellectual level than everyone else, even if you got the lowest score. You don’t have to cheat if you know it. The reason people cheat is because they don’t have the knowledge to pass the test. At the end of the day, the whole class might even get 0’s on their test scores because they might end up getting caught. Another example can be with drugs. You’re hanging out with you friends, and every single one of them is doing drugs. You’re the one who is going to be the healthiest in the long run, because drugs may affect your physical health and your intellect.

It was founded by free settlers from the British Crown colony on Van Diemen’s land on August 30 1835. Melbourne has a residential population of 128,963 and is expected to grow to 143,123 in 2 years. The city of Melbourne municipality is located at latitude 37 degrees 49 minutes south and longitude 144 degrees 58 minutes east on the south-east edge of Australia. The official language is English, but more than 100 languages are spoken by the city’s residents. On an average day around 909,000 people use the city, and each year Melbourne hosts over a million international visitors. Melbourne is known for its unpredictable weather and it’s often possible to experience “four seasons in one day.” Melbourne was the capital city of Australia for 26 years, between 1901 and 1927. Melbourne is home to the highest Italian and Greek populations in the world outside of their own countries. The highest temperature ever recorded was 46,4 degrees Celsius and the lowest was -2.8 degrees Celsius.

I selected this place because I have close to a dozen friends who live in Australia, and Melbourne just came to mind because of its popularity.
