Water Toxicity

Water Toxicity

I chose this topic because I did the IDP on water toxicity, and I am well informed on the topic. Toxicity is the quality of of being toxic or poisonous. This relates to water because some communities experience water toxicity. This can affect anyone, and many have been exposed to these toxins their whole lives. Many symptoms can come from exposure to these toxins in the water. Many toxins can cause many respiratory and neurological diseases. Some of these can be certain type of cancers, brain damage, bronchitis, asthma, IQ reduction, nerve disorders, and even illnesses that affect the child of a pregnant woman. Many of these toxins can be avoided, or be consumed at a minimal/safe level. Some toxins in water can be pesticides, lead, nitrate, etc. One way to reduce your exposure to lead is by using cold water. Another way is by using a water filter when using tap water. Water toxicity tends to happen more often in low income communities, due to the fact that they seem irrelevant in the eyes of some people. It’s best to inform students, so that they are aware of the situation. Water toxicity can affect your kids, food, and even your pets. Some illnesses that are caused by water toxicity, can hinder your and your child’s ability to learn, socialize, and ability to perform physical activities.
