Duties and Responsibilities: The U.S. Army is responsible for securing America's geographical borders and the citizens who reside in it by military means. Additionally, the Army provides military support when needed by local authorities in crisis and formulates defense strategies for military operations.

Salary: The starting salary for a U.S. Army soldier with the pay grade of E-1 was $1,491 per month as of the 2012 fiscal year, according to ArmyTimes.com. A soldier with the pay grade of E-4 with more than four years in the service received $2,266.50 per month.

Education: You must be either currently in high school or have a high school diploma or GED. If you do not meet this requirement, There are programs that can help. While a high school diploma is most desirable, candidates with a GED can enlist but it may limit some opportunities.

Demand for this profession: Often times, these types of jobs often have empty spots because of the risks the job may involve.

Reflection: I personally would not like to join the army because of man reasons. I don’t the the environment and moving to many different places. I also like science and politics more. Science and politics can be involved  in the US army, but not in the way i want it to be. I like working at my own pace, taking my time, and not being rushed.
