Netutopathic Doctor

The Naturopathic Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities: Naturopathic physicians combine the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science. Steeped in traditional healing methods, principles and practices, naturopathic medicine focuses on holistic, proactive prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. By using protocols that minimize the risk of harm, naturopathic physicians help facilitate the body’s inherent ability to restore and maintain optimal health. It is the naturopathic physician’s role to identify and remove barriers to good health by helping to create a healing internal and external environment.
Salary: A naturopathic doctor averages about $80,000-$90,000. Some may even earn up to $200,000, depending on their location, specialty type, and years of experience.
Education: A minimum of 7 years post-secondary education is required. Most NDs first complete a four year Bachelor’s degree in the arts or sciences, and then the required four-years at an accredited naturopathic medical college. Students must then pass comprehensive licensing exams in order to be registered to practice.

Reflection: I would like to try this pathways because it does seem a bit fun. I wouldn’t actually choose this as a career, but I would like to try some of the training and education required for this job. The job requires you to have knowledge about every illness or issue. I would like to focus on one specific thing.
