“Character matters most.” This statement means that character is more important than anything else in the world. There is so many things that are important in this world, but when it comes to character, you have to push everything else aside. Dale Murphy followed this, and this ultimately led to his success. An example of this could be when he wouldn’t accept interviews, unless he was well dressed. I can infer that he did this because he wanted to look like a good and professional individual. This is one of the reasons why people saw him as a good person. He about his career and fame. But he mostly cared about the character of his friends, family, and himself. He had 398 career home runs, and is now retired. Yet people still look up to this retired player because of his good character.
